Editing

I'm a former editor of Litro , a magazine of short fiction, and co-founder and Director of  Liars' League, an award-winning bimonthly story reading night based in the West End, which has been going since 2007. Liars' League has published four (to date) anthologies of short stories with Arachne Press, which I co-edited with Arachne Director Cherry Potts. I also co-edited New Short Stories 9 with Stephen Moran, after judging the Willesden Herald Short Story Competition in 2016.

I also provide editorial critique on novels and short stories for a (frankly very reasonable) fee. Former clients have gone on to gain Distinctions in their MAs at City and Goldsmiths with manuscripts on which I worked and advised. Email me at katydarby @ gmail dot com for more info and a price list.

Reviewing

I am an occasional reviewer of books (for the Times Literary Supplement, the Brixton Review of Books, and more) as well as plays and musicals for the international theatre website PlaysToSee , and OneStopArts . I've also reviewed films and theatre, and conducted interviews for various other publications, including the Camden New Journal, West End Extra and Notes from the Underground.
